Avril Lavigne cancels Manila concert due to coronavirus outbreak

Avril Lavigne announced the cancellation of her upcoming concert in Asia due to the outbreak of novel coronavirus (nCoV). This also includes her major concert in Manila.

In a Facebook post, the Canadian singer-songwriter said, “I am so sad to announce that we are unable to tour the Asian markets due to the continuous outbreak of the coronavirus. My band, crew and I have been working so hard to bring this tour worldwide and are completely bummed out.”

“Please everybody take care of yourselves and stay healthy. You’re in my thoughts and prayers and we are hoping to announce rescheduled shows soon,” she added.

The Head Above Water Tour is her most-awaited concert since five years. It is supposed to start in April. Meanwhile, her show in Manila was supposedly on May 20 which was sold out after just one day.

The 35-year-old singer is  known for her songs, “Sk8ter Boi,” “Complicated,” “Girlfriend,” “My Happy Ending,” “When You’re Gone,” and more.

Although, fans are sad upon hearing this news, they surely understood and respected their idol’s decision.

We still hope for a world tour after this COVId-19 pandemic.
