A millennium-old skeleton found in Mexico

Another milestone in archaeological studies has been recorded recently. Yesterday, August 10, a group of archaeologists found millennium-old skeleton of a pre-Hispanic man in northeast Mexico. The said discovery is described as one of the first of its kind to be discovered complete.

According to National Anthropology and History Institute, the body of the man had been placed inside a woven mat with a small mortar as an offering. Reports said that the body is believed to be between 21 and 35 years old.

Moreover, the said remains lay untouched for more than 1,000 years. In fact, the skeleton and its position were preserved along with a ceramic relic.

Furthermore, reports said that he is thought to have lived sometime during the period 400 to 700 AD.

The skeleton was discovered by residents of the state of Tamaulipas constructing the foundations for a water tank, it said. — AFP
